History

Anini, situated in the Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh, has a rich history knotted with the traditions of various indigenous tribes. The region has been home to tribes such as the Idu Mishmi and Adi. 

Archaeological remains nearby suggest an ancient connection to trade routes, hinting at Anini's role as a crossroads for cultural exchanges. Over the years, the town has preserved its historical roots. 

Geography

Nestled at around 1,980 meters (6,496 feet) high in the Eastern Himalayas, Anini is a town of unusual natural beauty. Anini's geography is a wonder enclosed by rolling hills, dense forests, and ever-flowing rivers. 

The Dri River flows through the region, contributing to the fertile lands. Anini's geography offers a diverse range of ecosystems, from alpine meadows to subtropical forests, making it a haven for biodiversity.

Local Culture

Anini boasts a vibrant culture shaped by the traditions of its indigenous tribes. The Idu Mishmi and Adi tribes, among others, celebrate their customs through festivals, rituals, and traditional art forms. 

Festivals play a significant role in the local culture, with events like Reh. Anini's cultural heritage is not just preserved in museums but is a living, breathing part of daily life.

The linguistic landscape of Anini reflects the diverse ethnic groups living in the region. While no dominant language exists, local people widely speak Mishmi and Adi languages

Also, many understand English and Hindi as well. Yet, you must learn at least a few common phrases to sustain here among local people. 

Climatic Conditions

Anini experiences a varied climate due to its elevation and geographical features. The town witnesses four seasons: Spring (March to May), Summer (June to August), Autumn (September to November), and Winter (December to February). 

While summers can be boiling, winters will be freezing. So, the best time to visit Anini is March through May and September through November

The nearest airport is Dibrugarh Airport in Assam, which connects major Indian cities. You can then get on a picturesque road trip through public transport or a taxi.

Accommodation

Anini is one of the most remote areas of Arunachal Pradesh. Although it is a town, the options available there can't even be half of what is available in the town or city you live in, and so are the accommodation options. 

Every hotel or resort available is at a minimum 70 km distance from the destination, which we do not recommend. So, the government of Arunachal Pradesh has arranged some options for tourists.

We should never compromise on food, and we always believed in "Eat more and be more to rome more." Since you will be spending your time in the remote parts of the country, the food you get to eat will also be local.
