Hey explorer,

I have a dark secret to reveal to you today. But before that,

Our last trip to Mount Abu went beyond our expectations. Eating local food with local people, talking to them in broken Rajasthani, and sharing laughs boosted our whole experience (and, of course, made us emotional as we left).

Well, the secret is that we wanted to enjoy North India for a long time as badly as you wanted to (yes, I saw your polls). Just as we were looking for offbeat places in the northern states, we came across this place called Abohar in Punjab.

The positives and negatives were balanced perfectly on this site, and we wanted to see it. So, here are all the details we gathered.

Why Abohar?

Why Abohar when we have more other places in Punjab, you ask? Let's say you woke up to a warm weather. The fact that you are at a place you have never heard of before turns on your travel and adventure spirits.

From the moment you wake up till you get back to bed, every view you encounter has a secret to say about Abohar. No crowds other than locals, giving you a chance to learn more about their culture and traditions.

It is a place that promises a unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. As you set foot in this town, you will be drawn by the charm of an authentic and unexplored adventure that awaits you.

Basic Information

History

As you explore one after one, you wonder how this town of so much history remained intact for this long. Once a part of the princely state of Bikaner, this town carries the imprints of various rulers who shaped its architectural identity.

Walking through Abohar's streets, the ancient structures stand as storytellers, sharing their victories and challenges faced through generations.

Each structure here is not just a history of bricks and stones. They stand as evident to the spirit of its people, their ability to adapt, and the rich cultural blend that defines Abohar today. Each antique here tells the human side of its past.

Geography

Abohar's geography is like a canvas that's both diverse and gorgeous. Sitting in the heart of Punjab, it is a place of fertile lands, crowded markets, and a peaceful and adventurous Wildlife Sanctuary

Everything you see here unfolds a unique part of the town's character. The fertile lands show the stability of its agriculture, the local markets flow with the energy of daily life, and the wildlife sanctuary adds a touch of natural essence

Local Culture

The truth about North India is that their cultures and traditions are more interesting than the other sides of the country. One among them is Punjab, and Abohar rural areas are just the right spot to experience it.

With their warm smiles, locals welcome you into a world of vibrant festivals and age-old customs. What makes your cultural experience even more engaging is the local dance of the state, Bhangra, which you could never afford to miss while you are here.

Language Used

Abohar is a small town and a not much-discovered place in the outer world. So, the dominant language here is the state language, Punjabi. Although some people speak the national language, Hindi, most locals are comfortable with their regional language.

Punjabi people are most welcoming, and you could boost your experience if you can get along with them. So, try treating your wisdom with some Punjabi phrases before getting there.

Climatic Conditions

The climatic conditions of Punjab can sometimes be surprising. While being warm is regular in the summer, the weather may unpredictably become hotter. Then, the winter months treat people with a pleasant atmosphere.

Understanding the climatic conditions is essential for planning a comfortable and enjoyable exploration of this town. However, we recommend you to come here from October through February
